| Requirements for applicants under 18 | Under-18 applicants need school enrollment or completion evidence and a liability signer. A signer who cannot attend the county office may use an accepted power of attorney. | |
| Documents to bring | Bring the credential-specific age/identity documents, Social Security number verification, Idaho residency evidence and lawful-presence evidence where applicable. Under-18 applicants also need school-compliance proof and a liability signer. A driver-training permit comes before course completion; the under-17 driver-training-completion document is a later driver-license requirement, not proof that the course must already be completed to obtain its training permit. | |
| Agency offices and appointments | Apply through a county sheriff’s driver-license office. Use the agency directory to distinguish driver services from vehicle-only offices and check each location’s testing hours and appointment rules; some combined offices do not provide tests. |
