Idaho permit fees and documents
Permit fee
$20 for a Class D instruction permit, or $21.50 for a driver-training instruction permit; the knowledge test costs $5 separately.
Documents to bring
Bring the credential-specific age/identity documents, Social Security number verification, Idaho residency evidence and lawful-presence evidence where applicable. Under-18 applicants also need school-compliance proof and a liability signer. A driver-training permit comes before course completion; the under-17 driver-training-completion document is a later driver-license requirement, not proof that the course must already be completed to obtain its training permit.
