Minimum permit age
15
Requirements under 18
For an under-18 application, a parent or legal guardian signs electronically, or signs form 735-173DP if unable to attend. Proof of marriage or emancipation removes that signature requirement. For a first Oregon driving privilege before 18, a parent or guardian certifies school enrollment or attendance; applicants no longer in school present a diploma or GED certificate.
Driver’s education
For provisional licensing, approved driver education reduces the required supervised practice; it is an alternative to the full practice-hours route.
