Wyoming permit fees and documents

For first-time driver-license or ID applicants, the handbook lists a certified birth record, valid US passport or immigration documents, proof connecting a changed surname, and documentation of the Social Security number. It also requires two Wyoming residency documents with a residential address. The current permit checklists differ on Social Security evidence and add detailed residency-document conditions; those positions remain recorded as alternatives.

For US citizens who have not already provided documents to Driver Services: one legal-presence document, one identity document, applicable name-change evidence, and two residency documents showing the applicant’s name and physical address, no older than 45 days and from different entities. A parent or guardian may supply a minor’s residency evidence. Supply a Social Security number; evidence of that number is recommended, not mandatory. Certified originals or issuing-agency-certified copies are required; photocopies, notarized documents and online printouts are rejected. Driver Services may request more evidence.

For non-US citizens: at least one identity document, every document establishing lawful presence, applicable name-change evidence and two residency documents showing name and physical address, no older than 45 days and from different entities.
