Requirements under 18
A parent or legal guardian must co-sign the application and accept financial responsibility for an applicant under 18.
Driver’s education
Driver education is required for the driver-license route at ages 15 through 18; the learner permit comes before the course. At 19 or older, the course is optional: without it, hold the learner permit for 90 days and complete 40 practice hours, including 10 after sunset.
