Nevada teen permit rules
Minimum permit age
15½
Requirements under 18
Under-18 applicants must document school-attendance eligibility with DMV 301, which lasts 60 days. A school official completes Section 1 for high-school students. For a disability or home-school exemption, a parent or guardian completes the first part of Section 2. Graduates use both parts of Section 2 and provide a diploma or equivalency certificate. Bring the application and minor affidavit, and pass the vision screening. Applicants without a Nevada ID card also need identity and Social Security evidence and two Nevada residential-address documents. A parent or guardian must co-sign a minor’s application.
Driver’s education
Driver education is not needed to obtain an instruction permit. Most first-time applicants younger than 18 need it before a full license; the usual practice requirement is 50 supervised hours, including 10 at night.
