Minimum permit age
15 years and 9 months
Requirements under 18
Bring identity and Social Security documentation, then pass vision and knowledge testing at the appointment. Applicants younger than 16 also need a school-verification form, completed by the school or co-signed by a parent or guardian.
Driver’s education
New drivers must complete MVA-approved driver education with at least 30 hours in the classroom and six behind the wheel; obtain the learner permit before starting in-car education.
